From the Mall of Georgia to the lake
Buford covers more ground than most people realize, and part of it is in Hall County. Near the Mall of Georgia and along Buford Drive, it is newer subdivisions and townhomes. Toward Hamilton Mill it is larger family homes with basements. North of downtown, toward Buford Dam and Lake Lanier, it is lake houses and wooded lots where pollen, leaves and damp are the main opponents. Buford’s historic downtown along Main Street has older homes that need gentler products on original floors.

Lake Lanier rentals
Lake rentals around Buford are the most seasonal short-term rental market in Gwinnett. From Memorial Day to Labor Day they turn over nearly every weekend, often Friday-to-Sunday stays by groups who spent the day on the water. That brings sand in the floor vents, damp towels in every bathroom, sunscreen on light switches and a screened porch that needs sweeping. We plan lake turnovers with extra time for exactly those things and check the dehumidifier on every visit, because a damp lower level on the lake turns musty within days in a Georgia summer.
Turnovers start at $85, and homes with docks, hot tubs or five or more bedrooms are quoted after a walkthrough. On rules: we did not find a Buford city short-term rental license when we last checked. Hall County parcels follow Hall County, and unincorporated Gwinnett parcels follow Gwinnett’s license from April 14, 2027 — check which side of the line your home is on.
Buford businesses
The Mall of Georgia corridor and Buford Drive are mostly retail, restaurants and medical offices. We clean storefront offices, salons and small practices after hours, with a free walkthrough first. Weekly service for suites under 2,000 square feet starts at $110.
