When a deep clean is the right call
A deep clean is not a better version of a regular clean. It is a different job. A regular clean maintains surfaces people touch every day. A deep clean reaches the things nobody touches but everybody eventually notices — the grey line along the baseboards, the dust mat on the bathroom fan, the film on top of the refrigerator, the grout that used to be white.
Book one when:
- It has been more than a couple of months since the last professional clean.
- You are starting recurring service. Our first recurring visit is a deep clean for this reason.
- Pollen season just ended. Late May is the most requested week of the year in Gwinnett, because a spring’s worth of pine pollen sits in every sill and track.
- Guests are coming for the holidays, a graduation or a new baby.
- You are listing the home for sale and want it photographed at its best.

How long it takes
A two-person team usually needs three to four hours for a two-bedroom home and five to six for a four-bedroom home. A finished basement adds about a third. Homes that have gone a long time between cleans, or with heavy pet hair, take longer; the lead tells you in the first half hour if the time or price will change, before any extra work is done.
How we clean older and delicate finishes
Deep cleans are where finishes get damaged when a crew is in a hurry. Our rules:
- Natural stone (marble, travertine, many granite counters) gets a pH-neutral stone cleaner, never vinegar or bleach.
- Hardwood, including the heart pine in Norcross and Lawrenceville’s older homes, gets a barely damp microfiber and wood cleaner — never a soaked mop or steam.
- Original tile and grout in 1970s and 1980s homes gets soft brushes, not abrasive pads, because old glaze scratches.
- Stainless steel is wiped with the grain and dried, so it does not streak.
How to prepare
Clear floors and counters of personal items, put away valuables and anything fragile, and secure pets. We move light furniture to clean under it but do not lift anything over 50 pounds or unplug electronics with cables attached. If you need the oven cleaned, do not run self-clean the day before; the residue it leaves bakes on harder.
After the deep clean
Most homes only need one or two deep cleans a year when they are on recurring service, because recurring visits rotate the detail tasks through. If you want to keep the result without booking deep cleans, recurring house cleaning every two weeks is how.
